Senior Institutional Sales Switzerland

Our client is a globally acting asset manager with a presence in Switzerland for almost 20 years. A key part of the company’s strategy is the Swiss market. To further build and strengthen the institutional business in Switzerland, the company is looking for a senior institutional sales.

Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you shall actively develop the company’s institutional business by covering pension funds, insurers and corporates across Switzerland. Your scope of activity will be broad and challenging. You will maintain, service and strengthen the existing client base by managing an individual sales pipeline from opportunity through to execution.  You will identify, develop and acquire new business and growth opportunities by leveraging your existing and future network. You are responsible to prepare and execute a business plan with significant revenue targets for the market coverage in Switzerland and develop a detailed client mapping. The most important part of your daily work will be the development of strategic relationships to key clients by delivering compelling investment solutions and investment education. Therefore, you plan and prioritise client visits and represent the company in external meetings with clients and prospective clients.

As part of the European institutional distribution team, you will be working very closely together with your colleagues to assure a state of the art service to your clients at anytime. This entails working closely with client services, marketing and other internal stakeholders. Having a profound understanding of both capital markets in general and the Swiss institutional market in specific, you are responsible for analyzing your client’s needs and coordinating existing services and offerings. You ensure that information about current market trends, competitors’ strategies and developments are kept updated. You will intervene and give advice as to how products should be positioned and presented to institutional clients in the Swiss market.

Candidate requirements

Besides energy and the passion for sales, strong and profound knowledge of the Swiss institutional business market is essential for this role. The position requires at least 7 years of relevant experience as sales executive in Switzerland. Existing up-to-date contacts to key pension funds, insurers and consultants as well as relevant working experience and a proven track record in covering institutional clients is a must. As the perfect candidate clients regard you as a trustworthy, credible, sophisticated and long-term oriented business partner whose advice and opinion they value as much as they value your proficiency in terms of product and market knowledge.

The reporting to senior management and the extensive interaction sideways with other relevant sales professionals asks for a significant ability to relate upstream, downstream and sideways. As the preferred candidate you have excellent interpersonal skills, you are customer focused and you think and act entrepreneurial. You are willing to develop a market and have successfully proven that you are able to build business. (Swiss) German and English fluent language skills are required, French is a plus.
