Senior Investment Specialist - Private Assets

Our client represents 65 bn EUR AuM. The company has a wide range of actively managed products – both in the traditional asset management and Private Assets space – including Private Equity and Private Debt.
As a diversified and privately owned active asset manager with global investment and research capabilities, the firm’s clients value the company as a trustworthy and long-term oriented partner.
Our client has an existing business in Switzerland with offices in Zurich and Geneva. In order to strengthen and enhance the development in Switzerland, the company is seeking to hire a high potential Senior Investment Specialist dedicated to Private Assets who is able to push further the asset under management with a focus on clients in Switzerland.

Responsibilities

Our client is seeking a Senior Investment Specialist to cover and grow investor base in Switzerland. The Specialist will work with the Investment, sales teams, Marketing and Operation teams – both in the Asset Management and Private Wealth Management channel – as well as other internal stakeholders to execute the strategy for growing our assets under management for private equity and private debt strategies.

As the successful candidate you will have the following responsibilities:

  •  Pro-active positioning of the company’s Private Asset capabilities to the market in Switzerland
  • Client acquisition: in collaboration with the company’s sales teams identifying and developing new relationships with institutional investors, family offices, HNWIs, endowments and foundations. Initiating client relationships and managing the entire process including long term relationships with investors in collaboration with the company’s sales teams
  • Client relationship management: Manage the existing client base and prospect to new clients in coordination with the company’s sales teams to ensure fundraising targets are met
  • Development of strategic relationships to key clients by delivering compelling investment solutions and investment education
  • Initiate and coordinate local marketing activities (client events, investment seminars, mailings, etc.) together with the company’s sales teams and the Private Wealth Management arm (private bankers) of the firm in Switzerland
  • Contributing to the development of marketing and investor materials for both potential and existing investors
  • Conducting appropriate market research on target prospects, setting up meetings and clearly communicating the firm’s strategies and differentiating factors
  • Coordination of client requests/RFP’s and lead final presentations
  • Organize regular IR activities (annual meetings, AC meetings, industry meetings, etc.)
  • Reporting to the Head of Investment Specialist Private Assets and working closely with the company’s Country Head Switzerland, located within the local Swiss entity of the company in Zurich or Geneva.

Candidate requirements

Skills and experience:

  • Strong academic background, with a degree in finance, business administration, economics or related areas
  • 5-10 years of private assets work experience in institutional fundraising (especially in the Tier 2 and Tier 3 segment – i.e. pension funds, family offices, endowments, foundations, funds of funds, etc.) and product management
  • Very good knowledge and understanding of the local market (culture, organizations) and the decision makers in the target client group.
  • Capacity to interact with a diverse audience – from private banker to sophisticated institutional investors
  • Strong technical understanding of Private Assets and ability to explain products, market situation and performance to different investors
  • Highly commercial with proven ability to leverage personal rolodex of established and active set of relationships with family offices and institutional private equity investors
  • Superior relationship-building, communication and presentation skills and international work experience required
  • An exceedingly high energy level, independent, strong entrepreneurship, individually motivated, and a collaborative team-oriented approach to business
  • Senior presence with solid communication and presentation/pitch skills
  • Excellent German & English language skills is a must, French a plus
