For their OCIO (Outsourced CIO) PM team, they are looking for a Managing Director to be based in their Frankfurt Office.
Responsibilities
The Managing Director OCIO ensures client satisfaction by managing multi-asset portfolios in accordance with mandate guidelines and with optimal risk diversification. The role delivers best-in-class client portfolio management and tactical asset allocation. Success is measured by achieving consistent client satisfaction, risk-adjusted performance, and strong oversight.
The MD OCIO also ensures representation in the German market and acts as a bridge between clients, the wider investment team, and other internal functions.
Design and advise on multi-asset portfolio structures aligned with client objectives, constraints, and risk budgets.
Conduct scenario analysis, stress tests, and risk diagnostics.
Pursue an active policy in relation to the choice of investment instruments and implementation to ensure strong investment outcomes.
Oversee rebalancing, flows, hedging, and mandate-specific implementation.
Ensure portfolios are managed in line with guidelines, restrictions, and relevant regulations.
Work closely with Risk, Operations, Legal & Compliance to maintain control and proper governance.
Support clear and meaningful reporting, performance attribution, and communication of results.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of OCIO processes, tools, and investment frameworks.
Build trust with decision-makers and serve as the primary OCIO contact for clients and prospects in Germany and the wider DACH region.
Lead investment-focused conversations, explaining portfolio construction, allocation decisions, risk considerations, and implementation options.
Work in close collaboration with internal teams to ensure strong representation in the German market.
Candidate requirements
Ability to think and work at an academic level.
Experience gained (expected 15+ years) at a reputable asset manager, family office, or comparable institutional investment organisation.
Deep experience in multi-asset investing and OCIO-type portfolio advisory or delegated management, with ultimate responsibility for investment portfolios.
Strong skills in portfolio construction, asset allocation, risk analysis, and implementation.
Experience working with institutional-level clients and comfort operating in boardroom and executive environments.
Ideally brings a relevant professional network within the German market.
Full working proficiency in German and good English language skills.
Hands-on, analytical, and collaborative working style.
CFA or equivalent qualification.
