Responsibilities

Our client has made a strategic decision to aggressively pursue asset raising opportunities, particularly in the global wholesale/financial intermediary markets. Their Investments will develop relationships with third party distributors outside the US, with a primary focus on EMEA. Relationships with distributors of their mutual fund family in the US will be leveraged. The current range of funds available in the UCITS vehicle are being expanded to include additional funds managed by their asset managers. As part of the global growth our client has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Associate / Sales Manager to join a team focused on business development in Germany and Austria. This team is charged with developing the strategy and execution plan for distributing the firm’s asset management capabilities through financial intermediaries. The team is responsible for growing the Investment?s intermediary distribution relationships across private banks, independent wealth managers, Fund of Funds, family offices and other distributors. The team seeks to secure shelf space for Investments products and develop value-added programs, campaigns and services that support their asset management capabilities. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Germany & Austria for our clients Investments, and will be located in Germany.

Strategic Market Planning:

  • Collaborating with market leadership to develop strategies and execution plans to meet client objectives.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance visibility, such as product features, speaking engagements, and research summaries.
  • Managing RFIs, sales presentations, and material fulfillment to ensure all processes are completed on time.
  • Coordinating with internal departments (e.g., marketing, legal) throughout the sales cycle.
  • Preparing management reports to track business progress.
  • Collaborating with a team to share ideas and best practices.

 

Sales Process and Responsibilities:

  • Participating in and preparing for large prospecting meetings and coordinating follow-up actions.
  • Handling requests through various channels (e.g., web research).
  • Representing the company at industry conferences and seminars to maximize prospecting opportunities.
  • Making outbound calls to introduce the company and secure meetings.
  • Taking responsibility for sales success with predefined clients to generate interest and secure partnerships with distribution platforms.
  • Developing and executing a business plan for these clients and providing regular updates to management.
  • Ensuring excellent client service and building trust to support client needs.

Candidate requirements

  • Ability to be attentive to detail, the ability to manage several projects simultaneously, meet aggressive deadlines and at times, work independently.
  • Relevant experience of financial services; third party sales experience a plus.
  • Understanding of intermediary distribution, including knowledge of key firms.
  • An in-depth knowledge of the capital markets and asset management is required; i.e., the ability to comfortably discuss financial topics (products and asset class characteristics, macro themes etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience building new business (including cold calls and relationship building).
  • Experience of presenting to prospects, advisors, clients or colleagues.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce is preferable.
  • High energy, enthusiastic, high quality interpersonal skills, especially influencing and communication skills.
  • A balance of sales, marketing and analytical skill sets, including a strong understanding of investment products.
  • Strong command of Excel, PowerPoint and Word programs.
  • Solid command of English language (written and verbal).
  • Travel required.
