Our client is an independent and privately-owned investment management company. The business was founded in the early 1990s. Based in London, they provide investment management in quality-growth equities with a global focus. The company manages more than USD 3 bn. For their management company, we are looking to hire a COO.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as a member of the Management Board responsible for the operations of the business.
  • Working closely with the firm’s CEO, the Management Board and Board of Directors on implementation of strategic decision making.
  • Working closely with operations team at the London based Investment Manager of the funds to coordinate operations across the different entities.

 

  • Overseeing daily operations  and ensuring the business operates efficiently, including:
    • development and implementation of operational strategies in line with the applicable regulatory framework and the firm?s overall objectives;
    • continuously reviewing and optimising workflows, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and alignment with best market practices; and
    • evaluating and implementing technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency, data quality, and reporting capabilities.

 

  • Within the broader area of operations, taking responsibility, amongst other things, for the following functional areas:
    • Compliance ? Oversight of the firm?s Head of Compliance to ensure all operations comply with UCITS, AML, and other regulatory requirements.
    • ICT ? Oversight of IT Providers, design and implementation of ICT strategy, DORA compliance
    • Office Management ? direct oversight of the Firm?s Office Manager o Platform Management ? Operational aspects of distribution platform management
    • HR ? Coordination of recruitment processes and ongoing HR matters

 

  • Liaison with Internal and External Auditors.
  • Preparation of Board Meetings for both the ManCo and the Irish fund entity, in conjunction with other members of the Management Board and the Head of Compliance.
  • Working closely with and monitoring key service providers performances and pricings.
  • Working closely with the Fund Administrator and Depositary in respect of Fund Operations and Reporting.
  • Oversight of preparation of Due Diligence Questionnaires together with the Investment Manager and Client Services team.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor?s degree (or higher) in finance, law, business administration or a related field; or accounting or other relevant professional qualification
  • At least 10 years of comparable experience, ideally related to the operations of UCITS or similar asset management businesses
  • Demonstrable track record in navigating UCITS, MiFID, and other relevant EU directives and regulations
  • Experience managing complex relationships with regulators, investors, and Boards; proven track record of leading senior teams
  • Strong spoken and written English and German language skills are essential, proficiency in other European languages (French, Spanish, Italian) is advantageous
  • Exceptional record of professional achievement
  • Expertise in managing people and processes across different functions
  • A keen attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
