Senior Capital Formation / Investor Relations - DACH

Germany (preferably Frankfurt / Munich)

Company

Our client is an international real asset investment manager with a proven history of delivering strong performance across value-add residential, logistics, light industrial and thematic real estate strategies. The firm manages multiple funds and mandates for a global investor base and is characterized by an entrepreneurial environment, short decision-making processes and a focus on execution and results. To support its continued international growth, the firm is strengthening its presence in the DACH region, with particular emphasis on German and Austrian institutional investors.

Responsibilities

The firm is seeking a senior professional to lead capital formation and investor relations activities across the DACH region. The focus lies on German and Austrian institutional clients — especially pension funds, insurers, “Versorgungswerke”, corporate investors, banks and consultants.
Family offices and private banks constitute an important complementary investor segment.
Swiss institutional investors are not an immediate priority but represent a logical long-term extension of the role. Candidates with existing Swiss relationships — or a clear willingness and capability to develop this market — are preferred.
This is an entrepreneurial, hands-on role suited for a self-starter who enjoys building markets, opening doors and driving allocations. It is not a managerial or “head of” function, but rather a senior individual contributor position with substantial commercial influence, reporting to the Head of Capital Formation / Partners.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive the systematic development and expansion of relationships with institutional investors in Germany and Austria (pension funds, insurers, “Versorgungswerke”, corporates, banks, consultants).
  • Position and articulate the firm’s real asset strategies in a clear, credible and differentiated manner to institutional audiences.
  • Manage the full fundraising cycle: market mapping, outreach, preparation of materials, meeting execution, structured follow-up, DDQs/RFPs and onboarding coordination.
  • Further develop relationships with selected family offices and private banks across the DACH region.
  • Gradually expand the firm’s presence among Swiss institutional investors, depending on experience and strategic priorities.
  • Act as primary point of contact for existing and prospective investors in the region, coordinating reporting, information requests and ongoing communication with internal teams.
  • Collaborate closely with capital formation and investment teams on product positioning, fundraising strategy and market feedback.
  • Represent the firm at relevant conferences, investor events and industry forums in the DACH region.

Candidate requirements

  • 7–15 years of experience in institutional sales, capital formation, investor relations or related roles in real assets, real estate, private markets or alternative investments.
  • Demonstrated access to German and Austrian institutional investors, ideally across pension funds, insurers, “Versorgungswerke”, corporate investors, banks and consultants.
  • Proven track record in originating, developing and progressing institutional client relationships; fundraising experience is a strong plus.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently in a lean setup with limited local infrastructure.
  • Strong “doer” mentality: enjoys client-facing work, preparation, follow-up and building markets step by step.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; strong credibility at senior levels including CIOs and Investment Committees.
  • Resilient, hands-on and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, execution-focused environment.
  • Native-level German and fluent English required; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across the DACH region and occasionally to other European offices.
