Regional Sales Manager – Southwest Germany

Germany (home office possible; regular presence in Frankfurt required)

Our client is an independent asset management boutique with many years of experience and a clear focus, including on value investing. The firm manages a significant volume of fund assets and offers a broad range of equity, mixed, and fixed income strategies for institutional and private investors.
The investment process combines classic value-oriented analysis with modern technologies, including AI-driven methods, to continuously deliver well-founded and innovative investment solutions.

Responsibilities

The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and expanding relationships with wholesale and semi-institutional investors across the assigned region. The role requires a strong hunter mentality, the ability to work independently, and the drive to build a meaningful footprint in a competitive but highly attractive market. This position offers significant autonomy, an excellent product suite to represent, and a culture that rewards initiative, ownership and commercial impact.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Drive business development efforts across the Southern German market, targeting distribution partners such as private banks, wealth managers, platforms, advisory firms, IFAs, multi-family offices and selected institutional accounts.
  • Position the firm’s product suite — including sustainable strategies, EMD, thematic equity solutions and global fixed income — with a strong focus on performance differentiation and client outcomes.
  • Identify new business opportunities, proactively engage prospects and maintain a disciplined and strategic sales pipeline.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle: prospecting, meeting preparation, product presentations, onboarding coordination and continuous relationship management.
  • Develop a deep understanding of client needs, market dynamics and regional sales potential; provide structured market feedback to product and marketing teams.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in Frankfurt to ensure consistent messaging and efficient client service.
  • Represent the firm at conferences, roadshows and partner events throughout the region.
  • Maintain internal CRM and reporting standards to ensure transparency and alignment across the organisation.

Candidate requirements

  • Relevant experience in asset management sales, wholesale distribution or semi-institutional coverage in Germany
  • Strong network across private banks, wealth managers, platforms, advisory channels or multi-family offices in the assigned region
  • Proven track record of growing assets, opening new accounts and driving commercial results
  • Excellent understanding of investment products — ideally including sustainable strategies, EMD, thematic funds and global fixed income
  • Hunter mentality: proactive, energetic, persistent and confident in building new business independently
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with credibility in front of sophisticated investment audiences
  • Ability to operate autonomously from a home office while collaborating regularly with the Frankfurt team
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Southern Germany and occasionally to other European offices
  • Native-level German
